Ashland, MA, USA – MatTek Corporation is proud to announce that its tissue production facility in Bratislava, Slovakia has obtained ISO 9001:2008 accreditation from the Slovak Association for Quality and Management Systems, Ltd. (SKQS).
This certification is an important step in assuring that customers continue to receive the very best quality and service from MatTek. This achievement follows the recent ECVAM validation and OECD (TG 492) acceptance of the EpiOcular Eye Irritation Test (EIT), which marked the company’s third regulatory approved assay. The certified site includes 350 m2 of production laboratories, a training laboratory and an R&D unit.
“The ISO:9001-2008 certification of IVLSL is a great achievement and demonstrates our high standards set for the production of in vitro 3D tissue models, both for toxicology and pharmacology use,” said Dr. Helena Kandarova, Executive Director of MatTek IVLSL. “The certification does not only apply to the production processes, but also to the scientific services provided to our customers, including training and proof of concept studies.”
